The photograph (right) shows one of the marble quarries where the owner company personally selects the block which will be used to produce your surround. Each block is unique and "veined" with mineral traces for us to discover aeons later. Cut into slabs, calibrated and polished to a high standard they are transported to the UK ready to use. The marble can be prepared to give two different finishes to the face of the marble. The first is highly polished finish and the second is "honed" giving a silken effect.
